My New Blog

It's 3:31pm and my family has just finished our "National Moment of Remembrance". 

December of 2000, the "National Moment of Remembrance" resolution was passed which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans "To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to 'Taps.'

Memorial Day and weekend is a wonderful time for families to gather- for fun outside, for parades and festivals, and great food. 

But Memorial Day is and should be so much more!

It is a time to gather and remember our loved ones lost while serving our nation.  A time to remember with gratefulness and respect the great sacrifice that men and women have given to each one of us in service to our country.

So with a grateful heart I thank the ones who serve our country now and the ones that once did and lost their lives in doing so.  - Jennifer

Make plans now for one of Brevard's best festivals! 
Join the fun on Saturday and Sunday, May 24th-25th.

Activities include Squirrel Box Derby, 5K/10K White Squirrel Race, and SIXTEEN free acts to perform over two days that include Edwin McCain, The Jeff Sipe Trio with special guest Jeff Coffin, and The Patrick Smith Band just to name a few!

Don't forget about the great shopping, street vendors, and yummy food!
